Craig's Story
Craig Newkirk grew up on Wrightsville Beach. A prolific draftsman in his own right, he is the son of architect Haywood Newkirk whose 40-year career is legendary and includes the development and design of the original layout on Figure Eight Island.
Newkirk grew up in the construction industry. "Having construction experience is a good litmus test for a draftsman. I know what I am drawing." Newkirk first started drawing for his dad, and then drafting as a source of supplemental income in 1985. Then he went on to Landmark Homes and later working for himself, founding Newkirk Drafting & Design.

Meet Craig
For 35 years, Craig Newkirk has drafted and designed many of Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach's finest coastal and southern coastal style homes. Craig is a father, a surf instructor, a martial artist, and diligent creative.
